ملخّص بلا حرق.
يرصد الفيلم قصة مدعي عام يُدعى ميتش بروكدين (دومينيك كوبر) ناجح في عمله، لكن في يوم من الأيام تنقلب حياته رأسًا على عقب عندما يقوم بقتل شخص بسيارته، ولكنه يهرب من مسرح الجريمة. يتم اتهام كلينتون ديفيز (صامويل إل جاكسون) بالجريمة؛ حيث إن الشرطة عثرت عليه بجوار الجثة، ولذلك يجد ميتش نفسه مضطرًا للتلاعب بالأدلة من أجل تبرئة المتهم الرئيسي في الجريمة. سرعان ما يكتشف ميتش أنه بأفعاله قد أطلق سراح مجرم وقاتل، وأنه يتحتم عليه التصرف بأقصى سرعة من أجل منعه من ارتكاب المزيد من الجرائم.
